WROTE SONG OF "MLLE"

Alfred James Walden composer of "Mademoiselle from Armentieres" and hundreds of other popular songs under the pen-name of "Harry Wincott," has died at Yeovil at the age of 80.

For more than 50 years he made the world laugh with his songs All the old-timers of the music- halls sund them. Many are still heard on the radio.

Best known of his songs, apart from "Mlle. from Armentiers," was "Any Old Iron," which Harry Champion made his theme song.
