Stage 6 Remove the Old Kitchen ChimneyThe old chimney stack that probably was used for an AGA in the kitchen had to be removed to give us a nice flat wall on the back of the house - the bottom brickwork does not matter too much as it will be in the room and plastered |

Stage 7 The Foundations are PouredThe next stage was the pouring of the concrete for the foundations - they had to be slightly wider down the garage side as the water table that side was slightly higher. |

Stage 8 Blockwork to DPC LevelIn go the blocks up to damp proof course level - this includes the drains which need to go through the walls |

Stage 9 The Slab is PouredThis was the point where we went away on holiday for a week - so we missed was happening for a while - when we pulled back on the drive it did not look as though a lot had been done - but the slab was in place - this had invovled laying the scalpings and compacting them - the Cellotex - the DPC membrane and then pouring the concrete - 6 inches |
